My name is Daniel Waller and I am the writer of START Helsinki’s blog. I am one of the co-founders of START Helsinki and I am THRILLED to be part of the START community. I’m a bachelor's student at Hanken with Management and Organizations as major. My hobbies include socializing with friends, playing guitar and CrossFit. Oh, and I have NEVER written a blog before so let’s see what will become of this blog. But this blog is not about me so enough about that.
This blog will focus on the exciting buzz around the Finnish start-up community. We’re going to write about start-up community houses like Maria01, co-working spaces like Startup Sauna or why not take a closer look on Junction, Europe’s biggest Hackathon event organized in Helsinki in November? Also, if you have any interesting ideas about topics I’d more than happily accept them. Just shoot me a message or comment below (remember to join our site as a member 😉)
But let’s START with taking a closer look on the START network. What is START? What is the purpose and how are we achieving that purpose? As stated in our about page START Global was founded in 1996 in university of St. Gallen (HSG). START Global is striving for a society driven by entrepreneurship and technology. START Global hosts various events including a hackathon with around 350 participants, START Incubator, an incubator with working spaces, and odyssey, their very own accelerator. START focuses on technologies like: blockchain technology, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and Augmented/Virtual reality.
Super exciting times ahead. Looking forward to see START Helsinki to take shape and see how this blog develops. Remember to subscribe and why not check out our FB page as well? 😊
Have a great weekend everyone
